Promectin Plus for Horses
Promectin Plus is an excellent broad-spectrum wormer that is specifically designed to treat and control internal parasites in horses. Suitable for equines of all breeds and ages, the formula comes with a combination of abamectin and praziquantel. It treats and controls nematodes and tapeworms and is effective against various immature and adult stages of parasites. The formula also protects against large strongyles, small strongyles, pinworms, ascarids, hairworms, large-mouthed stomach worms, neck threadworms, bots, lungworms and intestinal threadworms. Additionally, it prevents skin lesions caused by Habronema and Draschia spp. and also protects against summer sores and cutaneous onchocerciasis.
How does it work?
Promectin Plus comes with a combination of Abamectin and Praziquantel. Abamectin is effective against gastrointestinal, pulmonary and cutaneous nematodes, bots and external parasites. It paralyzes the nerve and muscle cells of the parasites, leading to their death. Praziquantel, on the other hand, acts against all species of tapeworms by inflicting muscle paralysis.
Directions
- Weigh your horse to determine the dosage that you will need to administer.
- Administer 0.2 mg/kg (0.2mg/2.2 lbs) abamectin and 2.5 mg/kg (2.5mg/2.2 lbs) praziquantel.
- Each marking on the syringe treats 110.0 lbs (50 kg) of body weight.
- The total content of the syringe treats 1320 lbs (600 kg) of body weight.
- All horses should be included in the parasite control program, especially mares, foals and yearlings
