Trimethoprim Sulfa Powder is a powerful treatment for pigeons and caged birds. The oral treatment is used to treat Paratyphoid (Salmonella), E. coli, and Coccidiosis in pigeons and cage-birds. It is specially formulated for racing pigeons and avian use. The powder consists of two key ingredients – Trimethoprim and Sulphaquinoxaline. When combined, these two ingredients combat bacterial infection and protect birds from seasonal intestinal infections. The powder is readily accepted by birds. Directions
- Mix one teaspoon of Trimethoprim/Sulfa powder with one gallon of drinking water for 7 to 10 days.
- The mix needs to be prepared fresh daily.
- For Aviary use: Mix 1/8 teaspoon of Trimethoprim/Sulfa to two cups of drinking water for 7 to 10 days.
- Make sure to remove all other sources of water during the treatment.
- Ensure to provide probiotic for 2 days after Trimethoprim/Sulfa treatment.
- After giving Trimethoprim/Sulfa see that you give the bird multivitamins daily.
